Her research contributes to advancing knowledge on the social and human aspects of developing software. Shahla has worked in automobile, eScience, and software industries as a consultant and project manager. Industry has inspired and significantly enriched her research on collaboration in software development firms and social change. Dr Amber Young is Director of the ISYS PhD Program and Assistant Professor of Information Systems in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. Her research interests include how IT can be designed, developed and implemented for social and organizational good.
